I've already been to the vet with him, four times now. he has been on injectable antibiotics for a couple months now. he does indeed have a RI, but even with the injections we can't seem to shake it.

Glad that you are doing all you can. Hoping for the best. Let me know how things progress.

thats okay. he's actually mostly healed up now. theres only the worst of the burns are still there, but he's looking really good. the dry patches i asked about before are also clearing up. there's still some infection in his mouth, and he has snot (for lack of a better term) coming out his nose alot. but he's made such a huge recovery. i'll keep you posted! thank you!

Glad to hear that his wounds are healing. I am concerned about the mouth infection as well as the "snot". Are you treating the mouth infection? Stomatis can be dangerous for a snake and is know as "mouth rot". If your snake has this he will need to be treated with antibiotics.

I am hoping that the mucous coming from his nostrils is not a sign of RI. I have had snakes get respiritory infections before and the only way I know to cure it is with antibiotics; either oral or injections. When the snake breaths do you notice a popping weazing or other sound. If so please get the snake to a vet as it may be RI. Not trying to scare ya as I have not looked at your snake, but just trying to give ya some input.

Take care,

Paul

Hello there,

Regarding my rescue JCP, i have a question. something very odd is happening, and its kind of got me worried. previously healthy scales are drying up and turning into scabs, which are then peeling off to reveal the delicate tissue underneath. this is happing in large areas all over his body. this is in spots where there was no previous damage. any ideas?

Wow I have been away for awhile and just saw your post. How is the JCP doing. If you still need some advice I will try and see if I can come up with some advice. So sorry to not get to you sooner.

Alot better, thanks for asking. he is still not out of the woods yet though.going through his second shed in three weeks but still refusing food. will upload more recent pics of his burns. they are healing nicely.

Good news. Let me know if I can be of any advice. Have over thirty years experience with snakes and want to see him get healthy with you efforts. Thanks for helping an injured herp out
