My name is Shawn Turnage. My wife Jennifer and I started Twisted Constrictors in 2005 after I seperated from an 11 year career and many deployments, to include a 14 month tour in Iraq, with the US Army. My wife and I decided it was time to try something new. I took a job in Oklahoma to allow us to be closer to our family. I have always had a love for snakes and owned many different species in the past, from Kings and Corns to Burms and Retics. The military made it very difficult to keep a snake as a pet, so naturally breeding was out of the question. After the Army was no longer an obstacle, I was able to start putting my collection together. I seperated from the Army in August 2005, and in June 2006 I hatched out my first clutch of ball pythons. I was hooked and haven't looked back since!!

Anything to do with the breeding or husbandry of Ball Pythons and Boas. Especially watching a beautiful baby Ball Python hatch from its egg. I also enjoy vending or visiting nearby Retile shows and meeting people that share the same passion as I do. So if you ever see Twisted Constrictors at a show, stop by and say hello!!!

Most of all I enjoy spending time with my wife. Other Interest include, Fishing, Hunting, Football, Basketball, Boxing, UFC or MMA. However most of my time is spent caring for my snakes. I take alot of pride in my collection and wouldn't have it any other way!!
