I live in New Smryna Beach! I look forward to meeting many interesting people that have the same interests as me. I recently started a few breeding projects, my most successful of which is breeding yellow rat snakes. I also plan to breed ball pythons, corn snakes, crested geckos, leopard geckos, & day geckos next year. I probably will breed other rat snakes in the future as well. Anyways if you want to be my friend just add me. thanks =)

Anything reptile... I have mostly snakes, lizards, turtles, and frogs.

I've produced several clutches of yellow rat snakes and corn snakes. I have also produced some clutches of striped mud turtles and crested geckos as well as gold dust day geckos.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought you could tell the sex of rosy's by the spurs? If they had them they were male and if not female... I hope you can breed them I'd buy some off you! =)

We bought her as female but she has spurs. Both of them have spurs but it can occur where females will have spurs as well. They wouldn't be anything special. They'd be het for Limburg albino though, as for what my male is exactly, no one knows hence why we call him a "mutt" locality.

I understand what you mean about the feeders. It's a lot of money to put out there to save some money in the long run. I guess since I think of every reptile expense as an investment, I don't see it as a waste. Since it seems you just want them as pets that would explain your reasons. Anyways, I hope you don't give up on it completely... There was a reason you decided to get the animals you have and I'm sure things will get better for you. =)

I was thinking about breeding them but because my fiance and I are unsure if our female is in fact a female, we just decided it would be a waste and we can't afford to have all the babies if they had any and get them fed as well so yea, they're just pets. I did have plans for them but those have gone away mainly due to lack of money. They did both finally eat the other day, thank god so we'll see what happens. Haven't completely decided what I will be doing.

Well you could try smaller food items until you get a strong feeding response again and then get them some smaller sized frozen rodents. I can get like a bag of 50 weanling mice for like $20.00. which should last you a good 3 or 4 months at least. I've heard you can refreeze them so you can try that as well. I usually just end up feeding whatever the snakes don't eat to my monitor... He seems to like that plan as much as I do. ;)It's getting kinda late for me so I will get back to you tomorrow... I really hope things turn around for you. I could sell you some ball morphs if things get better for you. I'll definitely be breeding my yellow belly pastel this year so I'll give you a good deal on a male pastel. ;)

Frozen rodents here are kind of expensive and I
feel no need to waste my time and money with it when it’s just going to be a
pain in the butt anyway. The price of live has gone up at the store where I
usually get feeders meaning it would be a lot more expensive buying in bulk and
we can’t really get small shipments and I can’t afford shipping and all that
from another place anyway. I used to want more snakes but now I just don’t. I
realize its just money that takes away from other things in life even when it
may not be much. I love my two but it’s just becoming more and more demanding
with my other bills and stuff like that.  We’ll see what happens but right now, that’s where I stand.

Yea if they don't eat frozen that would be a good reason. I usually buy frozen in bulk to save me some cash. In addition to that I breed my own feeders for the picky ones. Plus I have enough snakes that they rarely go to waste. I used to have rosy boas so I know how fussy they can get. Sometimes they show no interest at all. As long as they're eating that's good. I hope you can get them to eat more pre killed prey. If I can help with anything let me know. =)

I've debated on getting frozen feeders and stuff but in the end I just figured it would be a waste of time and money. I do kill their prey items from time to time if they appear to crazy and sometimes they will eat it. A couple years ago my female didn't eat for a good 2 months, right now my male hasn't eaten for around 3 months. I'm planning on getting them food tomorrow so we'll see but I'm thinking it'll just be a waste again. I really don't have the money to be wasting on them anymore. I have a ton of bills to pay, I just wrecked my car so I don't know what i'm doing about that, i've just got other priorities.

Why are they becoming too expensive? You just have the two snakes right? You shouldn't be out too much for them and there are always cheaper alternatives for everything. =) I could help make things more affordable if you want.Just let me know if you're interested.

Two rat pups whenever I get the chance costs me upwards of $6.50. I don't have the time for them anymore with my job. Yea, I only have the two snakes but I seriously just have no more time nor interest for them. I like them both still it's just becoming more of a hassle then anything else. I spend like $200 a year just for food for them and lately they've been picky so i'm just wasting money. They only eat live, they don't eat frozen. Some days they eat mice, some days they eat rat pups and some days they just kill them and leave them. It's just becoming to much for me.

I've been doing good.. I got lots of new herps! I'm so dead tired though... I started my senior intership as a teacher so I'm exhausted when I come home and yet I'm don't sleep when I need to sleep lol...

Yea, i've been working at Walmart the last 9 months and its been crazy. Life has just been crazy in general here and I have to say that sadly I'm falling out of the hobby personally. Just can't seem to afford it anymore so I'm not sure what's going to happen with my two Rosys right now. Been debating about selling them but I don't wanna just sell them to anyone who has nooo idea what they're doing. May just be me being picky, I don't know.

Well, when I first got him, he acted like he was hungry and tried to eat my fingers. I finally force fed him when his spine started showing through really badly.

Well I don't plan on breeding...not for a long time anyway. Cause all my animals are here with me a tiny apartment lol. Plus I don't have the money. Its just so hard to stop buying them! Its breaking me.
