My name is Katie and I am 26 years old and live in Ceres California.
I first got interested in reptiles when my mom would bring blue-bellied lizards home from work who had gotten sucked up into the vacuum cleaner. We would keep them for about a week to fatten them up, and release them nearby where they thrived. We always had pets, even when I was a baby. Cats, a cockatoo (a citron-crested, my mom's other child lol), and fish were always present at our home :)
I met my husband while we were both working at a pet shop as teenagers, and here we are almost 10 years after first meeting married and indulging our mutual love of animals and nature :)
MY ANIMALS
7 Red Eared Sliders
1 Painted Turtle
3 Hieroglyph Turtles which were a christmas present from Elliot
3 Red-tail Boas
1 Dumeril's Boa
1 Sulcata Tortoise(Howie)
1 Bearded Dragon(Fry), picked up at a pet store in my home town of Sonora, when we decided that it cost too much to get into the Celtic festival. Shoulda' known better than to go to a pet store instead! lol
3 Corn Snakes
1 Cal Kingsnake
1 Senegal Parrot(Pesto), a bird Elliot adopted after it was given to the store he worked at. This bird didn't like anybody else, even the "bird people" couldn't get close to him, but Pesto would always whistle and sing to him trying to get his attention whenever Elliot would walk by.
3 Cats(Starvin' Marvin,Isis,Kilala)
I hand-raised Isis from the time she was 3 days old, she was a gift from a very good friend :)
3 Fish Tanks 55,80,135
2 3 toe boxies
2 beautiful baby crested geckos, from http://reptilegeeks.com/petpro

HERPETOLOGICAL INTERESTS
Oh my interests change with my mood :) Some very long-standing interests are mainly reptile and feeder food diets, bearded dragons, iguanas, water turtles, and tegus.
We are going to start breeding some bearded dragons soon, we have a very handsome single male. Nice home with quiet neighbors, he likes long walks on the carpet and chasing crickets in the moonlight. He is looking for a chunky gal ready to settle down and start a family ;)
Between my husband and I we have bred beardies, corns, kings, cichlids, mice & rats, and dubia roaches.
GENERAL INTERESTS
Food for people! Yes, I do have a bit of an love/obsession with food that spills over into most of my life :D I also enjoy making bird treats for our little Senegal Pesto aka Beelzebird. I originally in my younger years focused my interest on exotic birds, as that was and is my mom's specialty. I loved hand-rearing birds with her, from the time I was 6 years old she was almost always hand-feeding something. I hope one day to breed some birds of my own to rear! Parrotlets and maybe someday blue-crowns (aka "pauliebirds").
As far as entertainment, I love Adult Swim, the Discovery channel and it's cohorts (TLC, History, Food Network, etc....), I'm a sucker for educational documentaries, especially the wildlife/nature ones :)
