It's good that you're giving the Savannah some exercise. But it's scary to watch someone mess with or tease a venomous snake. I really don't mean that offensively so please do not take it that way. Especially the mangrove species because they stress so easily in captivity. I have easily over 3000 hours of venomous experience dealing with all species except the King Cobra and Black Mamba. To me that's playing with fire even if they are mildly venomous. And also try to look at it from the snakes perspective. Would you want someone doing that to you???
Again no offense meant.

no offense taken.. though, it does bother me some honestly lol.. I can't see how I was teasing them??? I mist them down daily so they have humidity.....I cant help it if the gemmicincta dislikes being misted.   It's either have to dry of an environment and get sick, or suck it up for a few moments while misting...

I'm not that much of an idiot

Where the 'teasing' part comes in is using the hook to tickle (so to speak) the snake to get it to uncoil then using fingers to move the tail to show it off. Also allowing the one snake to just strike out several times just to shoot video. There was no misting happening that I saw of at the time the video was shot. Daily husbandry is ok and snakes adapt to that with time. But doing it to shoot video to show them off is not right. That is my interpretation of what was happening.

Remember. With venomous snakes (regardless of toxicity) best rule of thumb to keep thinking it's not IF you get bit it's when. Please don't take it as me calling you an idiot. It's just my being concerned that a bite or near miss could happen due to complacency and unneeded stress on a sensitive snake species.

Watch the video again... you will see the "mist".  Or turn your speakers up and you will hear it being sprayed.   I still dont see how even the so called "tickling"  is teasing? Not like I was poking at him trying to get him to bite.  My melanota is extremely laid back (being CB helps that)   I know his limits and I wont push them.  I just wanted to get his head to poke out rather then  pulling his head out forcefully(which I wouldnt do ever...fingers + Boiga usually dont mix).     I check on them daily to make sure they are fine and dandy.  As in, make sure they are alive and alert, in which, I gently touch them with my hook to see if they respond.. and his tail was "there" at the time so  I gently picked it up. That is all. Nothing more.    I would much prefer not to assume something when the husbandry involved is not known to the other. :) It's all good though.

Keep your fingers wel out the way as the weeks go by he'she will get faster & have sharper reactions you don't want your finger there.

Try weaving your tongs in out in a S shape, whilst your stood up over your monitor ( it's easier than bulldog clip) & increase speed over time, but you can see him stood on his back legs & looking good.

& watch his back legs you'll see him/her walking taller as time goes by, as they gain strength & vigour.

& fingers!!  my female can jump a good 18" plus off the floor in the blink of an eye, look foward to the next update.

I guess I am going deaf and blind. I had my sound on and didn't hear it.

I don't assume per se. Hence my asking in a non direct manner. I am a very direct person and will ask regardless. As you know. I never said you weren't doing something. Just that I personally didn't see or hear it.

But yeah. It's all good.

I'll just come out and say it that if you're having to mist everyday then something isn't right in the caging of the snake, substrate or both. If the cage has a lot of ventilation holes or the screen tops those are horrible at holding humidity and you'll have to spray everyday (if not more) to compensate for the loss.

What are the setups in the terrariums?? I may be able to help if you're willing.

I am aware I dont need to mist every day, but I do give them water everyday by misting.. none of them use water bowls, thus I spray them so they drink water off themselves.  I can only provide the gemmicincta enclosure in a photo form. My melanota used to be in it, but I needed a bigger enclosure when I found out I was aquiring the gemmicincta and cyanea from a friend. So,  I had to put my melanota in a sliding glass door enclosure with a towel over the top to hold humidity in. Which works wonders.  Once I move, they all have custom made enclosures waiting for them. I am fully aware of the requirements needed for Boiga. I've been researching them for several years, and still do.
the cage is simple because I am moving in 4 days.  So no specific substrate there aside from"Easy to clean" newspaper for now.  Once I move much more  decoration and substrate will be added.

If you want to know the temps as well.. it ranges from 82-88F

Bloody marvelous doll!! If you didn't want to use a towel to cover the screen top another option is getting the a styrofoam sheets used for shipping reptiles and putting one of those on there. Another great trick. Tape up excess air holes helps too.
Great job on researching and continuing to research! That's the beauty to reptiles is you never stop learning.
Other little tricks you can do which you may know about is of course the usual top soil or potting soil (chemical free) set about three inches deep. You can drill in place a small board at the bottom of the cage to accommodate the substrate. Also live plants are your friends!! Even if you do not put soil in there put several rain forrest live plants in the enclosure. That will really help too. Your temps are great which you know.
Oh drat. I just completely forgot what I was going to say next. I hate it when that happens.
When you move there is a misting system that you can install for really cheap that's on a timer. That way they can get their drinks and extra humidity if you didn't want to have to spray them or disturb them. Hardware stores sell them for cheaper then pet /reptile stores.
There was something else. I'm sure I'll think of it when I'm driving or some time when I'm unable to post. lol
You're doing excellent!!! Keep it up!! And you take stunning photos.

Thanks. I did have a Pothos plant originally, but I gave it to a friend who bought one of my enclosures for his crested geckos. Once I move and find a job, I will definitely be sprucing them up much more. I honestly cant wait to add dirt and live plants. the B. cyanea has about 2 inches of dirt with lots of hiding areas since she is the shyest of the bunch, I make it so with my limited supplies before moving, everyone is happy.  One thing I hope to do is give all my Boiga a 4x2x2 minimum enclosure, once funds allow it. I cannot wait for that day. hahha
