Thanks man.....She is breath taking in person.....

I have an F4 female born this year that looks similar but not quite as aberrant.....

Ruthveni are very underated snakes.......They are in my top five for sure.....

I guess you have never seen the striped Ruthveni?

I don't have any but I have a couple pictures....

I used to have a pair of double het for striped and amel back around 2004...

Would you like to see some pics of some striped Ruthveni?

The DIABLO phase is just an aberrancy it is not as simple as a single recessive trait like amelanism.....The aberrant expression in the phenotypes vary.

Do you know what Ruthveni locale the amelanistic gene came from?

Okay...here ya go...

Back in the 80s when it was legal to bring snakes across the border some Amealco, Mexico locality Ruthveni were brought to the United States....Including this 1983 WC male that is still alive and well in my snake room....He bred successfully from 1983 up to 2007...Yes I have a 27+ year old Ruthveni......I am giving him this year off as well since I have two of his daughters and two of his sons.....He is the father to ALL the aberrant Amealco Ruthveni in the United States....Here he is Cataracts and all....but he still LOVES to eat....

Through generations of line breeding the aberrants that came from his genes there were some VERY aberrants, Striped offspring and SUPER striped....Here is a pair of Super Striped Ruthveni breeding......Picture courtesy of Nathan Wells....

Some of the original wild collected specimens from Amealco, Mexico carried a very unique gene for that time....Amelanism....All of the amelanistic Ruthveni seen in our hobby today originally came from Amealco, Mexico Ruthveni.....And their amel gene has been exploited beyond belief......crossed into Thayeri for Pastel Kings, Nelsoni, Sinoloans, Hondurans and many other tricolors......Some started the quest into producing an amel / aberrant Ruthveni......here's a some results from such pairings...
