"The kiss originated when the first male reptile licked the first female reptile, implying in a subtle, complimentary way that she was as succulent as the small rodent he had for dinner the night before."

I am a BIG animal lover, and it really doesn't matter to me what they are, from horses (of which I have two) to tarantulas. I live in chilly Northern Michigan, with my husband, my two children, and my zoo.
I am hoping to start a breeding program with Forest Hingeback tortoises. I would like to work on captive breeding species that are known for high importation levels. I may not be able to make a huge difference, but I am hoping to do my part to stop the collection of wild caught tortoises.
I had also wanted to start breeding Russians. I still want to do this, but I have put that on hold until I get my Hingebacks settled in a bit.
I have also recently become involved in Ball Pythons and would like to do some light breeding with them.
I am a self-proclaimed metal head. I love my music loud and rough.
I am currently going to school to be a veterinary technician. I would love to be a veterinarian, but there is only one vet school in the state and I do not want to rip my family up to move to attend. It is in a major city, and we are not city folk.
My favorite animals would have to be horses and tortoises.
On top of my personal household of pets, I also rescue. I have rehabilitated everything from horses to frogs. I am working towards 501(3)c status. As of now, all funding comes from my own pocket. I do not accept cash donations, except an optional fee upon surrendering an animal. It is not mandatory, but appreciated.
I am located in northern Michigan. You can visit my site, Kyryah's Reptile and Amphibian Rescue to learn more and view all of the rescue documents, and to fill out an adoption application.

I am hoping to start breeding Homes Hingeback tortoises within the next couple of years. Once I have my Hingebacks settled, I want to begin working with Russians. I want to breed tortoises that are imported in high numbers, and sell my offspring for as little or less than the cost of wild caught individuals.
