Archimandrita tesselata (Peppered Roach) - One of my absolute favorite species! Adults get massive in size and have great demeanors! Males and females both get wings, but neither can fly. They can't climb smooth surfaces and are virtually odorless. They like to burrow, so a deep substrate is necessary. If you're looking for a pet roach, I highly recommend this species. These guys are eating machines!

Archiblatta hoeveni (Malayan Roach) - This is a pretty rare species in the hobby. Adults are massive in size, yet very gentle and fairly calm/slow moving. They emit almost no odor at all until they get defensive, which I display in the video (sacrificing my hand). They spray a VERY potent chemical (stronger than any other roach I've encountered) that is extremely difficult to wash off. After many hours and many attempts, I've found that Eucalyptus oil is the best solution. They don't burrow or fly, but can climb smooth surfaces.
