Field Research Honduras & India
Posted On 09/24/2009 12:18:58
I am planning trips to Honduras and India over the next 2 summers... The Honduras trip is through Operation Wallacea (opwall.org) The India trip is through Rom Whitaker's Madras Crocodile Bank Trust (madrascrocodilebank.org) Both trips involve research that will be used to conserve and protect reptiles. (Ctenosaurs, Hogg Island Boas, King cobras, and crocodilians) As a full time Zoology student (at Delaware Valley College), I am finding it difficult to fund my expeditions...But these trips are very important to protect these animals as well to my career. I am looking for any available help...Donations of any sort (money, supplies, bug spray, water bottles, etc) If you are interested in helping me out or have any ideas for fundraising... PLEASE contact me! Thank you all so much! -Jess

So there is a lot of controversy over snake hybrids...but some of these are pretty amazing looking

Carpondros - carpet python x green tree python

Carpalls - carpet python x ball python

BurmBalls - burmese python x ball python

ATB x ETB - amazon tree boa x emerald tree boa

BORNEOxBALL - borneo blood python x ball python

WALL - woma x ball python

IJxWOMA - Irian Jaya Carpet Python x Woma

Mollucan x Coastal Carpet Python

This isn't a hybrid, but it's a REALLY AWESOME GTP!

First Impressions are Everything...

Arie - two year old female Hogg Island Boa, she is the big baby.  She's a 4 foot moma's girl.  Sometimes she has an attitude, but she'll always be my baby girl.

Liora - 1 year old Albino Colombian Boa.  She's the new kid on the block, she's a sweetheart, she's got a bit of an underbite, but it doesn't negatively effect her at all!  She's the perfect example for "being different is okay!"

Aiden - three year old Red Albino Cornsnake.  He's a little shy, but warms up fairly quickly, very inquisitive.  Not a mean bone in this boy's body!

Pandora - Aberrant California Kingsnake.  The smallest of the group, but she definately makes up what she lacks in size with attitude & bravery! She may look big in the pics, but this girl is only a measly 15" long!

Goliath - The newest addition. This Beautiful 5 year old male Carpet Python was abused for much of his life & has the scars to prove it, but despite his mistreatment, he is as sweet as pie! At 7ft & 15lbs, this guy is BIG!

Alfie - He's the oldest out of the bunch, a male Leopard Gecko.  He's a sweetie.

Toadie - Male Leopard Toad.

First Educational Show
Posted On 01/21/2008 12:57:21

First ever show on Tuesday, April 17, 2007...

The reptiles made their debut at the Fun With Science Day.

They were a great success; the kids, teachers, teens all loved them...

I think there was something like 200 elementary and middle school kids,

as well as probably about 100 high schoolers, and about a dozen teachers....

There were only appx. 2 people that refused to touch an animal.

Here are some pics from the show:
