This season
Posted On 09/30/2011 15:13:26

Wow, I had a really bad season in terms of not only lack of fertile eggs, but also eggs that went bad as well as small clutches.  However...I ended up with five Okeetee Tesseras and het O.T.'s, two Tesseras het Anery, ph Amel, Hypo, and normals with same hets, and a Tessera het Ultra Caramel ph Hypo.  So I'm not complaining.  I'll probably sell a few.

We also built a storage room that turned out so nice, it's now my new adult and 2-yr old corn snake room, complete with homemade racks!  I will have to keep my population of adults to a certain level, which means I'll probably also sell some of them over the next six months.

Update
Posted On 01/12/2011 13:09:46

It's been awhile since I last posted!  Wow, how time flies.  A number of last summer's clutches went bad.  Very odd, as I discovered that other corn breeders had some bad luck, too.  So didn't have nearly as many babies as I thought I would.  But it's okay.  I have held back some het sunkissed, lavender bloods and het sunkissed fires, ultramel anerys, what appears to be an ultramel charcoal snow (very pink!), a few Bubblegums, a few nice Miamis het amel (trying for the elusive RED candy canes), and a few others.  I also ended up with some nice babies from other sources, including a hypo cinder, bandeds het cinder, etc.

I still have for sale:  Bubblegums, ultramel charcoals, blizzards, and a ghost--and that's it!

2011 Projects:  Haven't decided yet.  I'll do some rebreedings that didn't work out last year, a few new ones.  But because the market is so terribly bad, I won't have a *lot* of babies, I think.

2010 Hatchlings are Arriving!
Posted On 07/21/2010 11:31:29

Well, shame on me, I haven't written a blog in over a year--!  I'm so active on cornsnakes.com that I've been negligent.

This year's breedings have been a mixed bag of ups and downs.  My most-anticipated clutches ended up small and I've lost five out of 28.  My biggest clutches are not the most exciting--and I haven't lost any eggs in them!  Some of the girls were just too young, I think, first-timers, etc.

My first clutch is almost hatched out--normals het hypo, anery.  I crossed a beautiful Miami male with a pastel ghost.  The f2s should be really pretty!

Here's what's expected:

  • Bubblegum/Coral snows
  • High black or white Okeetees
  • Amels
  • Ultramels/Ultras
  • Butters
  • Golddusts
  • Ultra Ambers
