Only small/juvenile snakes should be popped. There is a chance of doing some serious damage to an adult snake. Adults should only be probed. If you try to pop and adult and you apply the wrong amount of pressure or squeeze in the wrong direction you could end up giving it a prolapse. Be careful. I would suggest probing.
